Young Authors 2019
Friday, January 11, 2019: Rough Drafts Due (mandatory grades 1-8)
Friday, February 15 2019: Final Copies Due (to participate in competition)
Robein Grade School will be participating in the Young Authors program which is co-sponsored by the Illinois State Board of Education and the Illinois Language and Literacy Council. The Young Authors program is intended to appreciate and recognize children’s writing. Every child in grades K-8 may participate in the program if he/she wishes. Should your child decide to enter, your role would be to encourage and guide the improvement of his/her work. It is essential that the work be their own with their own special touches.
Every student in grades 1-8 is required to write a rough draft of a story for Young Authors. Rough drafts are due to classroom teachers by Friday, January 11, 2019. If your child wishes to continue with a final draft, it is due no later than Friday, February 15, 2019. If a child is absent from school on that day, the book must be turned in on the day he/she returns to school.
The winners from each grade level will be recognized on this night and we will have a guest speaker. Night for Writers is scheduled for Wed., March 20 at 6:00 pm this year.
